Rodney Stults Obituary: Charles “Rodney” Stults, age 48, of Bullitt County, was welcomed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Friday, November 29, 2024. Born on May 31, 1976, in Louisville, Kentucky, Rodney was the cherished son of Minnie Lou Stults and the late Charles Russell Stults.
A devoted member of Journey Church in Shepherdsville and the former Band Director at Bullitt Central High School, Rodney’s life was a symphony of love, laughter, and service to others. His passion for music was only surpassed by his dedication to shaping the lives of his students, who fondly remember him as a mentor, a father figure, and an advocate who made every individual feel seen, valued, and secure.
Rodney’s adventurous spirit was evident in his love for hiking, fishing, and camping. Whether leading his family on outdoor adventures or sharing laughs in the backyard, he created countless lasting memories. Known for his infectious laugh, sharp sense of humor, and playful pranks, Rodney brightened every room he entered, touching the lives of friends, colleagues, and students alike.
In addition to his father, Rodney was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Elroy Willis. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 25 years, Stacey Stults; sons, Ben and Matt Stults; daughters, Chloe and Brenda Stults; mother, Minnie Lou Stults; sisters, Becky Baker (Greg) and Keri Stults; nieces and nephews, Josiah, Paxton, Elliott, Tyler, and Katlei; mother-in-law, Kathy Willis; brother-in-law, Jeremy Willis (Jami); and a host of loving family members and friends.
A memorial service celebrating Rodney’s incredible life will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 6 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home. Visitation will take place on the same day from 2 pm until the time of service. Rodney’s legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate to know him.
